Where did 9, 10, and 11 go?

Asher had his 2-month check-up with the Doctor today. In addition to his vaccinations, he got weighed. Here's the weight report:

birth: 7lbs 6oz
2 days old: 6lbs 13 oz
2 weeks old: 7lbs 15oz
1 month: 8lbs 13oz
2 months: 12lbs 1oz
That's a weight gain of OVER 3lbs in 1 month! 3lbs in 1 month, people! My boy is g-r-o-w-i-n-g!

Check out these pictures for proof. The first one is taken while we were still in the hospital. Greg and I were clearly a little ambitious to think that those pants would fit Asher for his "going home" outfit (and thank God they didn't! Imagine pushing a baby THAT big out... OK, don't imagine it, that would be a little traumatic, but you get my point). Clearly the boy is swimming in them.

And here's Asher wearing the SAME pants 2 days ago...

He may have Greg's hair color, but I don't think he will have Greg's build.

My weight on the other hand... I'm clearly not losing in proportion to Asher's gain. Stink :(

Simple truth

If you know me at all, you know that I love quotes! To me a quote can capture a profound truth in such a simple way. I love reading the words, ruminating on their meaning, and thinking about how that truth could apply to my life.

Here is a quote that came my way today that I find myself thinking a lot about:

"When you listen generously to people they can hear the truth in themselves, often for the first time." Rachel Naomi Remen

Even sadder then the day his wife signed up for a Google product

Today, Friday, June 27, marks a very sad day in the Lawson household (well, for atleast 1/3 of the Lawson's). An even sadder day then when I signed up to use a Google product. Today is the day that Microsoft Corporation founder Bill Gates retires at age 52.

I know, it's almost too much to speak of. How will we go on? Will those bugs in Vista EVER get worked out now?!?!

My husband is in mourning. To honor Mr. Gates a memorial service and moment of silence will be held today at our home. All Microsoft Product users welcome.

"Beach baby, beach baby, there on the sand..."

Look what Asher and I did yesterday! His first trip to the beach with his cousins.

so THAT'S what those are for!

Many of the newborn and size 0-3 month clothes that we got as gifts for Asher came with a little bib. I was confused as to why Asher would need a bib at this age when he won't start eating solids until months from now.

The answer to that question became very clear to me yesterday.

Bubblicious!

In case you can't make that out friends, Asher is sporting a stylin' bubble beard. Can you believe it! An entire BEARD made of bubbles! AND he produced this in less than 3 minutes! AND I think he looks quite proud of it. What next?!

So THAT'S what those bibs are for!

Asher Nate

One of the reasons I wanted to blog was so I could share some of the daily happenings of life with Asher with our friends and family. I believe you can learn so much about someone from still ordinary moments, and thought this would be a wonderful way to let those we love experience some of those with us. So here's one of those; Asher Nate at 8 weeks old (today!):

Evidently Asher is quite happy about that!

I find myself continually amazed at the transformation of Asher's hair. When he was born there was quite a lot of it and it was quite a dark brown. He has yet to lose any of it, but it does get lighter by the day I think! He is going to end up a blondy like his Papa is my guess.

Here goes!

Well blogger world, here I am! Here goes. We'll see where this leads us.
