I need your help...
So I need a new winter jacket this year as my old one was bought post-pregnancy and is quite big on me now. Too big really. I only have $80 to work with and right now at Old Navy all their jacket's are 50% off. Score! I went today and chose 2 that I liked and now I can't decide which one to keep. Will you help me??
Jacket #1:
Pros:
I like that it zippers up for easy on and off, plus it has the toggle closure's that I could do up if I wanted to.
I like that it has a hood.
I like the pattern and colors (blue, black, and grey plaid).
I like the length.
Cons:
Because of the shape of the coat, I think I look really big in it.
Jacket #2:
Pros:
I like the simplicity of the color, so I can pretty it up with a fun scarf or mittens.
I think it's more classic since it's just black, and maybe I wouldn't always look like a stay at home mom in it.
I find it slimming.
Cons:
I'm not 100% crazy about the button closures.
No hood.
It's longer than any winter coat I've had before. Not sure how I feel about that.
I would wear this jacket as an every day sort of jacket, whether that be going to the grocery store, or going to a play date. I wouldn't wear it for playing outside in the snow with the boys; have something different for that.
What do you think? Do you think one is more flattering or functional over the other? Or do you think neither works and I should hold out for some after Christmas sales and see if I can get something different that fits my price range? It is difficult to find something nice and warm for that price I'm finding.
So torn!
Thankful Thursday
This week I have been thankful for...
... my husband surprising me with a special dinner out to celebrate our anniversary (we were a couple weeks late due to scheduling conflicts with our babysitter, aka my mom).
... getting to wear heals on our surprise anniversary dinner.
... my husband doing most of the getting up at night with the boys while they've been sick.
... Second Cup holiday flavor lattes.
... the anticipation of a fun night away with some girlfriends this Friday night.
... getting a sneak peek at our family pictures from a couple of weeks ago.
... a lovely visit with our dear friends the Thomas'.
... Asher's sheer excitement and joy at getting to play with his friend Marek again.
... landing the "sold out everywhere" Christmas gift that we wanted to get for Asher from a return counter.
... Word World, Asher's new favorite TV show that is super educational. Asher now knows how to spell the word hat.
... online shopping.
... the new gross motor moves Levi is doing - he's definitely improving.
... a night out at the movies!
... breakfast at Cora's. So yum!!!
... my dear friend planning on coming home for Christmas.
... being able to help a friend out this week.
... our humidifier (I believe the white noise from this machine helps the boys sleep in a little longer in the morning since they can't hear Greg getting ready for work as clearly).
... new and old friendships.

I'm glad I didn't miss that!
We've not really pushed the baby signing a lot, but we have been doing a few random signs here and there. Levi has been using the sign for "all done" for some time now. Just recently he has started signing "more". Here is a picture of him asking for more cheerios (as he eyes them sitting on the table).
Levi signing for "more" - so glad I didn't miss that!

Thankful Thursday
This week I have been thankful for...
... Greg getting up multiple times in the middle of the night with our sick kids.
... Tylenol!
... my backpack carrier. Levi has spent many an hour in there (he won't let me put him down when he's sick)
... my new haircut - definitely wash and go, but cute and I love it! All about the side-sweep bangs.
... having an honest talk with a friend and straightening things out.
... friends from out of town coming to visit next week!
... my Mom, who took Asher for the afternoon on the weekend. I think it was just as good for him as it was for us!
... my Mom, who also bought Asher a couple new sweaters in the next size that he has been desperately needing.
... Levi climbing the stairs. Many moms may sigh when their child starts doing this, but not me. We've worked too hard with physio to accomplish this task, and I'm very excited!!
... a new mini-addiction to an online Words game with friends (kinda like scrabble).
... artichoke and jalapeno dip from Costco - soooo good!
... Asher's music class and all that he is learning.
... a compliment from a friend about some weight-loss. Still have a ways to go, but slowly it is coming off.
... a phone call with my dad.
... a phone call with a friend who lives far, far away.
... some warm and sunny afternoons in mid November.

Thankful Thursday
I'm thankful for laughing. There are moments in the midst of our busy days when I just need a good adult laugh, you know what I mean? Here are a few things I saw that made me chuckle this week...
